Ally McBeal is a quirky 'legal' comedy drama following the everyday life of Lawyer Ally McBeal and her, sometimes bizzare, colleagues. The back story begins with the love of her life, Billy, leaving her at law school to start a new job in another city. Broken hearted, she finishes her studies and gets a job. Her career takes a downward turn when one of her male colleagues sexually assaults her, grabbing her behind, and claims obsessive compulsion disorder, which results in Ally losing her job instead of the offender. On leaving the premises with her things, she bumps into an old law college friend, Richard Fish, who immediately offers her a job at his newly established law firm. She is introduced to the team, only to discover her old flame, Billy, is working there......and that he is married.

Ally McBeal is full of great jokes, important issues and excellent special effects. The computer generated 'Dancing Baby', symbolising Ally's biological clock ticking away, by way of halucinations, has been a mega hit. And the various images of being 'dumped' out of a trash can, shot through the heart with an arrow, etc, etc....
