Angel
Season 1
Doyle
is sent by the 'powers that be' to help Angel on
his path to redemption.. He is half demon, but
only found that out when he turned 21. Since
discovering his demon half his life took a
downward turn, ending his marriage, and leading
him into gambling and drinking etc. In helping
Angel he finds his own redemption for mistakes of
the past. Doyle is 'gifted' with very painfull
visions, which lead Angel to the people who need
his help. He eventually sacrifices himself to
save some other 'benign' demons, and to prevent
Angel from making the sacrifice. Doyle dies so
that Angel may live, and Angel lives so that
others may. Or at least that's what the Oracles
say.
