Season
1
Lindsey
McDonald is first seen in the opening episode for
Angel, City of..
He
works for Law firm Wolfram and Hart, who
represent some rather dubious characters, perhaps
the personification of 'Devil's Advocate'. It is
obvious from the beginning that the Law firm,
their lawyers and clients are far darker than the
norm.
As
Angel crosses more of their clients, Wolfram and
Hart take an 'unhealthy' interest in the Vampire
with a soul, with Lindsey as a key player. At one
stage Lindsey has a 'crisis of faith' and turns
to Angel for help in preventing the deaths of
three special children. As a result he is,
surprisingly, offered a promotion by the Law
firm, and accepts it.
The
final episode of season one sees Angel and
Lindsey head to head. Wolfram and Hart have big
plans, which include putting Angel's team in
hospital, and summoning something into a large
crate. Angel tries to prevent the summoning and
battles the demon Vocha who was brought in for
the proceedure. Whilst they are fighting Lindsey
picks up the scrolls and completes the ritual.
The crate and contents are wisked away leaving
Angel and Lindsey to battle it out over the
scrolls, which Angel needs to save Cordelia.
Lindsey starts to move the scrolls toward a flame
lantern, leaving Angel with little choice but to
cut off the Lawyers hand. Angel leaves with the
scrolls, leaving a bloody and angry Lindsey
behind.
Season 2
Lindsey
is not happy with losing his hand, and is out to
get Angel in any way he can. He takes a personal
interest in the 'person' summoned at the end of
season one, Darla. He slowly falls in love with
her, and finds himself having to vie with Angel
for her affections. She wants her Angelus.
When
Darla is reborn as a vampire, she and Drusilla
attack a party being held by Holland Manners in
his bunker basement. The only two to survive are
Lilah and Lindsey, and they find themselves
having to compete for Holland's job. Darla
eventually leaves LA.
The
law firm arrange a special operation for Lindsey,
providing him with a 'new' hand. His hand seems
to have a 'mind of it's own' and his
investigation into where the hand is from finds
him having to, reluctantly, work with Angel
again. They discover a small lab were 'people'
are kept in stasis chambers, barely alive. Their
body parts are removed for use in transplants for
the 'favoured' employees of Wolfram and Hart.
Some of them are intact enough to be rescued, but
for some death is their only release. The lab is
torched, killing, amongst others, the unwilling
doner of Lindsey's hand.
Lindsey
quits Wolfram and Hart, and leaves LA.
