A11 Out of Mind,
Out of Sight
May Queen candidate,
Cordelia, finds herself having to turn to the
'losers' she is always putting down when strange
accidents start happening to her friends. First,
a baseball bat attacks her boyfriend, apparently
all by itself, causing brusing and swelling to
his face. With Cordelia a dead cert for May
Queen, she 'couldn't possibly be photographed
looking beautiful, with a beaten up partner'.
Then one of her friends is seemingly pushed down
a flight of stairs, but no-one was near enough to
push her.
As the plot unfolds, Buffy
discovers a den in the roof, with a yearbook
belonging to a student called 'Marcia'. She takes
it back to the others, who deny ever knowing of
her, and then shows them where they signed the
book. They come to the conclusion that maybe
Marcia had become invisible, because no-one
noticed her. Anything can happen at the
Hellmouth. (Including mysterious MIB's hovering
around the school)
Buffy agrees to be
Cordelia's bodyguard, but loses her when Cordelia
gets changed into her May Queen dress in a
cupboard. Marcia had dragged her into the roof.
Buffy goes after them and finds Cordelia
unconcious in Marcia's den. Someone sneeks up
behind Buffy.....
Giles and the others go in
search of Marcia, whilst Buffy is watching over
Cordelia. They hear a violin playing in the
basement and think they may have found her, but
it's only a tape recording. The door slams shut
behind them, trapping them in the boiler room,
with a damaged gas pipe......Just as they are
beginning to lose consiousness the door opens,
Angel drags them out into cleaner air. When they
are a little more alert Angel gives Giles a book
and goes into the boiler room to fix the gas
leak. The gang head off to find Buffy and
Cordelia.
Buffy and Cordelia wake up
at the Bronze, tied to the May Queen thrones,
with an ominous looking metal tray near by.
Marcia taunts them and cuts Cordelia's face with
a scalpel. Buffy manages to get free from the
throne and trys to fight Marcia, but finds it
difficult fighting someone she can't see. She
tells Cordelia to be quiet......she strikes out
and Marcia falls into the curtains, and they
tumble down over her. Before Buffy can do much
else two men in black suits enter and wisk Marcia
away. The gang turn up to help 'pick up the
pieces'.
.....An invisible Marcia
is led by two men into a seemingly empty
classroom, she takes a seat and is introduced to
the class. She opens the book. The subject is
'Assasination'. "Cool" she
comments.......
