(episode

Kretchmer)
...
Luke throws Buffy across the mausoleum, and
instructs Darla to retrieve the meals. She exits
and Luke goes over to Buffy. They fight, with
Luke definately the stronger, and Buffy
eventually being thrown into the crypt. Luke
jumps into the crypt, reciting a prophecy. He
leans down towards Buffy's neck... he jumps back
in pain, the shape of a cross burned into his
hand, and Buffy takes her chance and kicks him
clear of the crypt. She jumps out and runs for
the exit.
Outside
she hears screaming, Willow is being attacked by
a vampire. Buffy kicks him clear and he runs off.
They head after an unconsious Xander who is being
dragged away by two other vampires. Willow
distracts them and Buffy leaps in, knocking them
flying... but there is no sign of Jessie...
A
very shaken Willow, and freaked out Xander, are
given the background lecture on vampires, demons,
and slayers from Mr Giles in the library. At one
point Willow states she needs to sit down, Buffy
points out that she already is.
...
Below Sunnydale, Jessie is brought before the
Master ...
In
the library, Giles, Buffy and the others try to
figure out where Jessie might be. Buffy remembers
that Luke came from behind her, but the entrance
was in front of her, therefore the entrance to
the tunnels must be in the mausoleum.
...
Jessie is upgraded from a meal for the Master, to
bait to catch the slayer ...
Buffy
skips class to go and rescue Jessie, having to
jump over the school gates to get out, whilst
Willow and Giles do some research into the
Harvest. When Buffy arrives at the mausoleum she
is aware of being watched. She finds the gateway
to the tunnels, but it is padlocked. Buffy asks
if he has a key, and turns round. The mysterious
stranger from before is stood there. He replys
'no', that they don't like him going down there,
and warns her not to go. She asks his name, and
he replys, 'Angel'. Buffy breaks open the gates
and starts to head in. Angel reluctantly gives
her some directions, and after she has gone he
wishes her good luck.
As
Buffy is heading down the tunnels someone sneeks
up on her, it's Xander. He refuses to go back and
Buffy reluctantly lets him tag along.
Willow
is looking up some information on natural, and
bizzare, disasters on the internet in the
computer sciences suite. Cordelia is there with
one of her friends, Harmony. She is telling her
about the incident at the Bronze where Buffy
attacked her. Cordelia says Buffy is crazy.
Willow butts in and points out that they don't
even know her. Cordelia immediately puts her down
for butting in on their 'private' conversation.
Willow gets the printouts from the printer, while
Cordelia and Harmony try to figure out how to
save the program they've just written... Willow
suggests they hit 'deliver' as she leaves the
room... Cordelia hits the 'DEL' key...
Giles
is gradually piecing together details on 'The
Harvest' in the library. He jumps round as Willow
walks in, she asks if Buffy is back, Giles
answers no, obviously worried. He enquires as to
the results of her research. She has found
details on an earthquake that happened about 60
years previously. They conclude that the 'Master'
must have got himself trapped somehow, as this
was also an ideal time to open the Hellmouth.
Buffy
and Xander eventually find Jessie. He seems
pretty scared and eager to get out. Buffy breaks
of his shackles and they start to head out of the
tunnels, but their way is blocked, by Vampires.
They ask Jessie if he is aware of any other way
out and he sends them in the other direction, but
they are surrounded. Jessie suggests trying
inside a room, he thinks that's the way he came
in. When they get into the room it's a dead end,
and the one exit is now blocked by approaching
vampires. Buffy starts to close the door, it's
been open so long it will hardly budge. Jessie
then reveals the trap, showing Xander his vampire
face and informing him he is going to die. There
is a scuffle and Jessie is thrown out of the room
into the oncoming vampires, sending them to the
ground. Buffy asks Xander to help with the door.
They eventually close it, just in time, but it
won't be long before the vampires break it down.
How are they going to get out of this one? Xander
scans the darkened room with the flashlight he'd
brought along, and spots an escape route, the air
vent in the ceiling. Buffy pulls off the grid,
and checks inside. She tells Xander to get going
and he crawls inside, with Buffy close behind.
The door of the room gives way and a vampire
climbs into the air vent in pursuit of them, not
far off Buffy's heels. Xander finally finds an
opening and climbs up out of the vent onto
concrete. Buffy starts to climb out after him but
is pulled back, Xander grabs her and pulls her
out of the vent. The vampire who has hold of her
leg yelps with pain as his hand bursts into
flames as it is pulled into the daylight, he lets
go and Buffy and Xander tumble to the floor.
When
they get back to the library, Giles and Willow
have figured out most of what they need to know
about the impending 'Harvest'. Willow is upset at
losing Jessie, and Xander is furious. They try to
figure out where they might carry out 'The
Harvest', and they all come to the same
conclusion, 'The Bronze'.
The
Master marks Luke as his vessel. Along with
Darla, Jessie and some other vampires they head
for the Bronze. Jessie is there first and homes
in on Cordelia, watching her constantly. A slow
song starts playing and he goes over and pulls
her onto the dance floor. A little bemused by his
new found confidence she reluctantly dances with
him.
Buffy
goes home and gets her slaying bag together. Her
mother comes into her room and asks her where she
is going. When Buffy tells her she is going to
the Bronze again with her friends, Joyce says no,
she is grounded. It's only her second day at her
new school and she is already receiving calls
from the Principle because Buffy is skipping
class. She leaves Buffy to sulk in her room, but
if she wants some dinner, she can come
downstairs. When Joyce is gone Buffy grabs the
last of the things she needs, throws the bag out
of her window onto the roof, and climbs out after
it.
Luke
and the others arrive at the Bronze. They force
the door man inside and close the door. The
vampires disperse to block all of the exits, one
of them switches off the power. The Bronze falls
silent. A voice on the stage breaks the silence,
a spot light lights up the stage where Luke is
stood. The door man is brought to him, and he
bites into his neck and feeds... each drop of
blood bringing the Master closer to freedom...
Buffy
and the others arrive at the Bronze, a little too
late. Buffy tells the others to find a way in
round back and get the people out, while she
finds a way in up top to deal with the vampires.
Buffy breaks in through a window, a nearby
vampire not noticing her. Buffy mumbles something
to herself, which the vampire does hear. The
vampire is thrown off the balcony, and lands
right in front of the stage, just as Luke is
about to bite into Cordelia. Buffy swings down
from the balcony and they start to fight. Giles
and the others finally break in the back and
start to usher the people out. Jessie has grabbed
Cordelia and has her pinned down. Xander
intervenes and they exchange words, Xander having
a stake appropriately poised. Before he can find
the courage to stake his old friend someone
pushes passed, pushing Jessie onto the stake,
turning him to dust. Buffy and Luke continue to
fight. She tricks him into thinking a light
outside is daylight and breaks the frosted
window. But it's not daylight, and before Luke
has a chance to react Buffy stakes him, the
vessel is dusted. The master collapses to his
knees in his cavern, beaten. Darla attacks Giles,
but Willow quickly responds by throwing some holy
water over her, she releases Giles and runs out
of the Bronze screaming. The few remaining
vampires decide not to tackle the Slayer and her
friends and run for the exits aswell,
disappearing into the night.
Angel
is stood near the entrance to the Bronze. He is
surprised, and impressed, that she actually
managed to stop the Harvest...
Xander
and Willow comment that nothing will be the same
again in Sunnydale after that. At school the
following day nothing has changed. Those who were
at the Bronze put the whole thing down to some
rival gangs, or something, with no mention of
vampires. Xander and Willow are confused why
everyone is so nieve to what happened. Giles
points out that they rationalise what they can,
and forget the rest, it's called human nature. At
least 'they' still know, and they have the slayer
to protect them. Buffy heads off with Willow,
talking about 'girly' stuff. Giles takes a
breath, muses, then says 'the world is doomed'
and heads off towards the library.
