Willow
was a quiet, butter wouldn't melt in her
mouth, grade A student at Sunnydale High.
She had been best friends with Xander
since a young age, even dating him when
they were five. She was considered a nerd
and a loser by the 'in' crowd, and was
ridiculed for her 'taste' in clothes,
which her mother picked for her. One of
her favourite subjects is computer
science. |
Season One
When
Buffy arrives at Sunnydale High she befriends
Willow because she wants to get good grades.
Willow is surprised that Buffy wants to be her
friend but is happy to oblige. Willow is also
taken with the new Librarian, Mr Giles, and his
collection of books. Buffy and Willow meet up at
the Bronze and Buffy tells Willow she has to
'seize the moment', which Willow does, with a
vampire! Buffy goes to find Willow to rescue her
and bumps into Xander, who joins in the search.
Willow is a little shocked at first on
discovering that vampires are real and living in
Sunnydale, but she soon becomes a valuable
research assistant to Giles and best friend to
Buffy. At one stage she makes a new friend on the
internet, but he turns out to be a an evil demon.
And she also has to face her worst nightmare,
performing on stage.
Season Two
Willow
continues to be a loyal friend and aid to Buffy,
growing in confidence gradually as time
progresses. When Giles' past catches up with him,
it is left to Willow to head up the research
team, and she comes up with the answer to save
the day. She is eventually noticed by a Senior at
the school, who is also in a band, his name is
Oz. They meet officially for the first time
during career week, and their first date is to
Buffy's 17th birthday party. It is later
discovered that Oz is in fact a werewolf. Buy
hey, women arn't much fun to be around for three
days a month either, right?
Willow's
favourite teacher is the computer sciences
teacher, Miss Calender, and Willow is gutted when
Angelus kills her. The school is unable to
replace her and Willow is asked to take over the
classes until the end of term, which she does. As
a result of this Willow delves into Wicca and
magic, studying everything that Miss Calender
left behind. She eventually discovers a disk with
the curse to restore Angel's soul on it. They
attempt the restoration, but are interupted and
Willow ends up under a stack in a coma. She
eventually wakes from the coma in hospital and
insists on trying the curse again, which works
this time, only not before Angelus has opened the
gates to Hell.
Season Three
Willow
is upset with Buffy for running off, and worried
about her. When she returns things are said, but
everything is patched up and they are friends
again. Willows friendship with Xander starts to
get romantic, although they both resist the
feelings. When Spike kidnaps them and they think
they are going to die they kiss, just as Cordelia
and Oz walk in to rescue them. Oz eventually
takes Willow back, but Cordelia is not so
forgiving. The wish demon Anyanka arrives and
grants Cordelia the wish that Buffy had never
come to Sunnydale, creating a new timeline, in
which we meet Vampire Willow. All is saved and
the timeline restored, trapping Anya as a human,
her powers gone.
When
two children are found dead in Sunnydale, with
occult marks on them, a witch hunt ensues. This
results in Willow, Buffy and Amy being tied to
stakes and a fire being set. They are rescued,
but not before a panicking Amy turns herself into
a rat to escape. She is caught and Willow takes
her in as a pet, and starts to research on how to
restore her.
We
meet Vampire Willow again when Anya tricks Willow
into casting a spell to help her retrieve her
amulet. The spell goes wrong and Vamp Willow is
brought into this timeline, instead of the
amulet. At first everyone thinks Willow is dead,
and are shocked, confused and relieved to
discover she isn't. Willow has to impersonate
VampWillow to stop a bloodfest, and then
VampWillow is sent back to her timeline. Willow
comments that she thinks her Vamp persona is
'kinda gay'.
When
Willow discovers that Xander was intimate with
Faith she is gutted, even though there is nothing
romantic between them. Willow finally 'gets her
oats' shortly before Graduation Day as the
realisation that they may not live through it
hits home with her and Oz.
Season Four
Now
attending UC Sunnydale, Willow delves deeper into
Wicca, joining the college Wiccan Group. She is
disappointed with them, calling them
'wanna-blessed-be's'. One of the group, Tara,
notices Willow and makes contact outside the
group. They become good friends.
Willows
boyfriend, Oz, becomes attracted to another
woman, who turns out to be a werewolf too. As a
result of the encounter, which includes nearly
killing Willow, Oz decides to leave Sunnydale and
find solitude to consider his future. Willow is
gutted, and her friendship with Tara gets closer.
When Oz returns, now able to control the wolf
inside him, Willow eventually decides she wants
to be with Tara, not Oz, so he leaves again.
Willow's
growing Wiccan powers become very handy to the
group, aswell as Tara's ability to read peoples
aura's. They realise the swap between Faith and
Buffy and help to undo it. And Willow's magik
comes in handy to defeat the military experiment
gone wrong, Adam. Although she still hasn't
figured out how to turn Amy back into a person.
